Community Tournament Applications now open!
Did our tournament list exclude your favourite game? Now’s your chance to remedy that! Community tournament applications are now open.
Send a proposal to firstname.lastname@example.org with “AVCon Community Tournament” in the subject and the following information:
Game title: The name of the game(s) which the tournament will feature
Tournament format: Single elimination? Round-robin? Different challenges each round? Let us know how you plan to run contestants through the tournament.
Equipment requirements: Hardware/software you will need to run this tournament, including numbers.
Equipment you can provide: If your game is obscure or if it needs special data or peripherals, then it will help your application if you can supply equipment
Tournament size: Based on your tournament format and the equipment you think you’ll be using, how many people can your tournament support? Aim to fit your tournament into a two-hour time slot.
If you think you know how many people will turn up because you’re part of a community for the game or you’ll be able to spruik your tournament to your masses of friends, include that number too.
Community tournaments will be run on the Saturday night of the convention. Prizes will be supplied by AVCon. Applications will be open until 27th of April. Please don’t feel afraid to send in an expression of interest even if you can’t quite get your head around exactly how your tournament will work!
PS. If you’re interested in helping out with any of the tournaments in the AVCon official tournament list then feel free to shoot through an email as well!
